Paradise full of stars

In this entry I would like to show you my creation with Storybird. It is a Picture Book in which I've tried to illustrate the lyrics of two songs by Coldplay: Paradise and A sky full of stars.

This is only an example that I would elaborate as teacher to ask my students later to create their own story, adapting the text that they want. They can use different types of texts, such us songs, poems, short stories, etc. But they have to keep in mind that the aim of this activity is to illustrate what the story tells, adapting the lyrics if its necessary or simply telling the story from another point of view.

• Level: A2+/B1. Probably suitable in the last year of Secondary Education.
• Skills: Reading and Writing.

Short description	With this activity about Valentine’s Day, I want to encourage children to think with a critical view about what love means. Through group and individual activities, they are going to be able to practise all language skills.

Short description	This is a group activity. The class would be divided in groups of 3 or 4. The aim is to search specific information on the Internet and transfer it to a Word document. They have to describe some famous people and then select one of them and write some questions that they would like to ask him/her in an interview.

Gimp: First Steps.

Name of activity	Let’s try GIMP! (Arts through ICT).
Age and level	·     Last year of Primary School (11-12 years old). ·     A2 Level.
Skills	·     Reading and listening comprehension. ·     Oral interaction.
Software used	Prezi (http://prezi.com). Online resource.
Short description	This activity would take place in the “Arts” subject of a bilingual primary school. The aim is to create a collage using computer software. The teacher is going to introduce new software similar to Photoshop, but easier for users. It is GIMP. The students are going to follow teacher’s instructions with the help of visual support. They need to listen to the teacher and pay attention to the instructions and examples given in the Prezi presentation. The main vocabulary is highlighted and remembered at the end of the presentation.
